I got a handful of them, and while they fit perfectly and hit nicely, the thicker walls and base make for a slightly different experience. It takes a bit longer to hit your temp, which also makes it rip less hard. So not identical, but it gets the job done for sure. I'll always be sure to have a couple on hand, especially at how ridiculously expensive they Dr D made theirs.
Oil seems to leak under the insert worse than with the factory one, but the price was right.
Gonna email you to see what might be wrong and if anything can be done about it
Looks and feel identical to the stock one I dropped. The fit is precise with zero play. I still run my rosin at 440° with zero issues. Great product!
The seller reached out due to an issue I had with one of the inserts and immediately gave me a replacement. It really can't be overstated how good of a product it is for the price.
I purchased 2 inserts and the flat one was great, but the bottom detached in the rig and I was unable to get a response from the team at OM Quartz. After a few emails I realized that the issue of the insert that didn’t fit into the rig would not be addressed by the team and I took matters into to my own hands and removed about .1 mm from the insert where it was too wide. The rounded bottom was nice for cleaning but the sanding down and polishing it to make it fit in the rig was not conducive with its survival. I knew this, but I wanted to at least try the glass. It took a bit more to heat and make a vapor but was adequate for use. I was really disappointed with the lack of response about the issues with my order. I paid for 2 inserts both of which were not up to par. The flat bottom was not able to survive 2 dab sessions. The bottom detached the second time I used it not a break but a clean separation of the welded quartz pieces. It wasn’t dropped or mishandled. I’ve had the 2 since launch and since switching to the quartz from titanium, have had the same OEM insert. I care for them well. So it was a disappointment to see a potential aftermarket replacement that was way more budget friendly turn out to be a disappointment. I was willing to try again and accept the possibility of this being an outlier, but the lack of any email response to me since my attempts aside from a request for review was my cue to stick with the OEM for my backup glass. It is Florida, tile floors are murder on glass. Been lucky so far with the OEM, but this one was a no-go for me. I was hoping for at least a response to the one that didn’t fit. If you are on a budget you can give it a try, but be careful not to have it separate in the oven.
